From Puenta La Reina to Ayegui
Day 6, Thursday 29 August 2013
Distance to Santiago: 716 km
Early the next morning we walked through the town Puenta La Reina buying coffee and something to eat.
Early morning in Puenta La Reina.
At the entry to the town stands the 12th century La Iglesia del Crucifijo (The Church of the Crucifix), which was originally built by the Knights Templar.

We bought bread, cheese, fruit at a local supermarket and had a wonderful picnic under this statue in the park near the Albergue.
There were a few steep climbs on the way, and it was as hot as hell and I was asking myself why I am doing this. We eventually arrived in Ayegui, booked in at the albergue paying €8 for two beds in shared accommodation. We walked 25,4 km for the day.
