At the entry to the town stands the 12th century La Iglesia del Crucifijo (The Church of the Crucifix), which was originally built by the Knights Templar.2013-08-29-IMG_0505

We bought bread, cheese, fruit at a local supermarket and had a wonderful picnic under this statue in the park near the Albergue.

There were a few steep climbs on the way, and it was as hot as hell and I was asking myself why  I am doing this.  We eventually arrived in Ayegui, booked in at the albergue paying €8 for two beds in shared accommodation.  We walked 25,4 km for the day.
